The Weekly Reset: Your Guide to the Valley

October 26–November 1, 2026

Fall adventures, Halloween festivities, new experiences, and a little reminder to romanticize your everyday life.

Can you believe we’re already heading into the last week of October?

I don’t know about you, but fall in Arizona is quickly becoming one of my favorite times of year.

The temperatures are finally dropping, the farmers markets are back in full swing, and suddenly spending an afternoon outside sounds a lot more appealing than hiding from the summer heat.

And with Halloween falling on a Saturday this year, there are even more reasons to get out of the house and do something fun!

If you’re new here, welcome to The Sunday Reset, your weekly guide to finding new experiences, exploring the Valley, and making your everyday life a little more exciting.

Every Sunday, I put together a list of free and affordable events happening throughout Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Gilbert, and the surrounding areas.

Because I genuinely believe that romanticizing your life doesn’t have to mean booking an expensive vacation, planning an elaborate weekend, or waiting until you have someone to do things with.

Sometimes, it just means finding something interesting and deciding to show up.

So, what are we doing this week?

ROCKS | Ground Yourself & Explore

Wellness, nature, mindfulness, and outdoor adventures.

One of my favorite things about living in Arizona is how many opportunities we have to get outside and appreciate the desert.

And now that the weather is finally cooperating, there’s really no excuse not to take advantage of it!

This week’s outdoor and wellness experiences include:

Tuesday, October 27 — Sound Meditation for Grief

6:30–7:30 PM | HD SOUTH, Gilbert | $5

If you’ve been needing a moment to slow down and reconnect with yourself, this gentle sound meditation offers an opportunity for reflection, relaxation, and emotional well-being.

Wednesday, October 28 — Sunset Yoga

5:30 PM | The Scottsdale Resort & Spa | FREE

A complimentary yoga class at a beautiful Scottsdale resort? Yes, please.

Whether you’re an experienced yogi or simply looking for a peaceful way to spend your Wednesday evening, this sounds like the perfect midweek reset.

Thursday, October 29 — Stargazing at Usery Mountain

6:00–8:00 PM | Usery Mountain Regional Park, Mesa | $10 listed

There’s something so special about the Arizona night sky.

Spend your Thursday evening outside, learning about the stars and appreciating the desert after dark.

TALKS | Get Curious & Get Connected

Learning, creativity, culture, and meaningful conversations.

One of the easiest ways to make life more interesting is to learn something new.

It doesn’t even have to be something you’re particularly passionate about.

Sometimes, attending a lecture, wandering through a museum, or joining a book club introduces you to an entirely new interest.

And even better? You might meet someone who shares it.

A few experiences that caught my attention this week:

Monday, October 26 — Understanding AI

1:00–4:30 PM | Gateway Library, Mesa | FREE

Artificial intelligence is becoming a bigger part of our everyday lives. If you’ve been curious about how it works, this is a great opportunity to expand your knowledge.

Tuesday, October 27 — Unsolved Mysteries of the McDowells

5:00–6:30 PM | Mustang Library, Scottsdale | FREE

A little mystery during Halloween week?

Join the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy for an educational lecture exploring the fascinating stories and mysteries surrounding our desert landscape.

Wednesday, October 28 — In Conversation: Modern Treads

6:30 PM | Phoenix Art Museum | $5 listed

For anyone interested in art, creativity, or thought-provoking conversations, this could be a wonderful excuse for a midweek museum visit.

Thursday, October 29 — Horror Novel Book Club

6:00–7:00 PM | Red Mountain Library, Mesa | FREE

Honestly, could there be a more appropriate week for a horror-themed book club?

If you love reading and have been wanting to connect with other book lovers, this one might be for you.

WALKS | Move Your Body & Meet Your People

Fresh air, new friendships, and getting out of the house.

If there’s one thing I want people to take away from Rocks, Talks & Walks, it’s that you don’t need to wait for someone else to start enjoying your life.

I know showing up alone can be intimidating.

But sometimes the hardest part of making new friends is simply putting yourself in situations where you might meet them.

And what better way to do that than getting outside and going for a walk?

Thursday, October 29 — Venom in the Preserve Educational Walk

8:00–10:00 AM | Gateway Trailhead, Scottsdale | FREE

Explore the Sonoran Desert while learning about some of the fascinating wildlife that calls it home.

Saturday, October 31 — Desert Walk & Talk

8:00–9:30 AM | La La Land, Kierland Commons, Scottsdale | FREE

Start your Halloween morning with a little movement, conversation, and an opportunity to meet new people.

Sunday, November 1 — Late Riser Sunday Walk

10:00 AM | Papago Park, Double Butte Loop | FREE

And of course, I’d love for you to join us for our weekly Rocks, Talks & Walks Sunday morning walk!

Because not everyone wants to wake up at sunrise on the weekend.

Our Late Riser Walk is all about getting outside, enjoying some fresh air, and meeting new people in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

Come alone, bring a friend, or invite someone who’s been looking for an excuse to get out of the house.

Everyone is welcome!

& MORE | A Little Something Extra

Creative experiences, community favorites, and something a little different.

Not every adventure needs to involve hiking boots or a workout.

Sometimes, romanticizing your life looks like spending an evening painting, visiting a local bookstore, or wandering through a farmers market with a coffee in your hand.

Here are a few more experiences worth adding to your calendar:

Monday, October 26 — Drink ‘N’ Draw

6:00–8:00 PM | Changing Hands Bookstore, Phoenix | FREE

A casual community drawing experience for anyone looking to embrace their creative side.

Thursday, October 29 — Watercolor Made Simple

6:00–7:30 PM | Gateway Library, Mesa | FREE

Spend an evening exploring watercolor painting and trying something creative.

Saturday, October 31 — Prickly Pear Festival

Holland Center, Cave Creek | FREE

Celebrate one of the Sonoran Desert’s most iconic plants with a local festival highlighting something uniquely Arizona.

Saturday, October 31 — Old Town Scottsdale Farmers Market

8:00 AM–1:00 PM | Old Town Scottsdale | FREE admission

Fresh flowers, local vendors, coffee, and a slow Saturday morning.

Need I say more?

A Little Reminder Before You Go

One of the reasons I started Rocks, Talks & Walks was because I realized how easy it is to fall into the habit of waiting.

Waiting until the weekend.

Waiting until you have more money.

Waiting until your friends are available.

Waiting until you’re in a relationship.

Waiting until there’s something worth celebrating.

But somewhere along the way, I started to realize that I didn’t want to spend my life waiting for a reason to enjoy it.

I wanted my ordinary Tuesdays to feel exciting.

I wanted to have things to look forward to that didn’t require a plane ticket or a special occasion.

And more than anything, I wanted to build a life that I genuinely loved living, regardless of who was available to experience it with me.

That’s really what Rocks, Talks & Walks is about.

It’s not about having the busiest calendar or making every weekend some extravagant adventure.

It’s about being intentional with the life you’re already living.

So this week, I want to encourage you to pick just one thing.

Something you’ve never tried before. Something you’ve been meaning to do. Or maybe something that feels a little intimidating because you’d have to go alone.

Put it on your calendar.

Get dressed.

And go enjoy yourself.

You never know who you’ll meet, what you’ll learn, or what new favorite hobby you might discover.

Here’s to making ordinary weeks feel a little extraordinary.

With love,

Rocks, Talks & Walks 🤍

Find your people. Explore your city. Romanticize your life.
